Chilean gold production rose by 2.4% to reach 1.4 million ounces in 2018, mainly supported by an increase in production from Escondida and Guanaco mines. Simultaneously, silver production fell by 0.8% to 46.1 million ounces owing to a fall in production from several of the country’s silver mines, including the Candelaria, El Penon, and Punitaqui.
